And the best warm dinner is Meal!

I like the word Giddy.
Don't you?

I'm off to have some dinner!

Said he's on his own, but his own is you.

I've been feeling oddly optimistic today...

Unfortunately, feelings aside, today I got nothing done, failed to meet some people for a rocking climbing thing, and got my keycard eaten by an ATM for forgetting my PIN.

Although I did buy American Gods!

Only because I couldn't find it at any libraries, of course.

I don't know why I feel so oddly optimistic...

Playing solitaire by the window.

I got a new bank account today.

And that's pretty much all I did.

I'll start my Philosophy of Modern Physics assignment tommorow, I swear.

Actually, probably Thursday, but definitely by Thursday.

On an unrelated note, I've been really getting into using ctrl-T to open new tabs in Firefox lately.

Keyboard Shortcuts! Thumbs Up!

What the?

I was in Leichhardt today, looking for, and failing to find, a copy of American Gods, when I saw a sign hanging from the Anglican Church, which said:

RetroChurch

Ancient Future Worship Community.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell that is meant to mean?

Spring Break Reprise.

Wooooooooooooooooooo!
Spring Break!!!
Wooooooooooooooooooo!!!

I'm quite bored already. I'm thinking perhaps I'll need to do some serious leaving-the-house in this next week.

Tuesday, September 20, 2005

These officers, man, they weren't mellow.

Next week is, of course, the mid-semester break (even for UNSW people, a quick search has revealed!)

So...
*ahem*

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

In unrelated news, I recently had occasion to revisit my old school. Not Fort Street, but my old, old school - Summer Hill. I didn't really visit it, per se, considering schools tend to have those scary "Do not enter our property, lest you be eaten by SHODAN" type signs, so instead I just orbitted it a bit... And was pleased to see all my most fondly remembered sites, like... The crappy playground equipment... and Mary (the tree)... ... That's about it really.

But I also reremembered some sites that I had forgotten about, like the steps outside the front of the building! I can't remember when I hung around there... It was either in early year 5 or very late year 6... Or possibly it was a before-school type thing, like the steps out the front of Fort Street, but I don't think I ever arrived early enough for that. Anyway, I distinctly remember being around there at some point. Aaaaah, those were... Days. Of some variety.

He was awful nice, really quite paradise.

Well that was fun, where by fun I mean pretty boring.

But some good news; I managed to win the David Bowie Prize for Androgyny when a young girl asked her father, "Daddy, is that a girl or a boy?"

Bonus!

I'm lazy as a man can be!

Tomorrow I'll be working down at the Official Markey Family Polling Station (Also known as Enmore TAFE), earning some much appreciated cash and facilitating the Battle Röyalè between Sam Byrne and... Whoever the Labor candidate is. Oh, and 6 other faceless candidates who presumably have no chance.

But in order to maintain my air of impartiality, I won't discuss any of the candidates, but instead will discuss... David Byrne.

David Byrne has, through his career, made a lot of top quality music, covering many different styles. His latest album, Grown Backwards, contains a wonderful rendition of Au Fond Du Temple Saint, a beautiful performance of Un Di Felice, Eterea, and 13 other, less operatic tracks, most notably including Lazy. I like it a lot.

David Byrne also possesses a fabulous pair of eyebrows.

Well, from here they look like books!

Lately I have come to occasionally blame all my bad moods entirely (irrationally, of course) on my glasses.

I got these glasses about a year ago... (I think that's around when I started getting increasingly frequent bad moods, though that might just be a bit of Retconning on my behalf). They are, of course, the crappy transition type glasses. I loathed the idea at the time, but assured myself that I'd get used to them, and/or I could get new ones if I didn't like them, and/or they would protect my eyes from all that UV damage that doesn't seem to be bothering anyone else.

Anyway, I never did get used to them, and they suck. Aside from the fact that I'm convinced they look shite, and this makes me often self-conscious, they also render absolutely everything a dull, brown, poo-shade. All those wonderfully bright colours I used to enjoy... Now poo-shady.

It really hit home for me when I was skiing. What with the skiing, one tends to wear goggles. These goggles render everything a yellowy shade (pee-shade). Most years I would occasionally take them off occasionally to admire the beautiful white snow, or lovely green trees... But this year I realised that when I did that... Everything was still off colour... Poo-shady. (Yes, I wear my glasses under my goggles. It looks dumb, but I can't be arsed with contact lenses).

I was thinking about it again today in the park... Lovely green grass, lovely blue ski, lovely... colourful playground equipment; all rendered in... couleur d'excrément! Of course, I could take my glasses off, but then all I get is some blurry distant shapes, looking a little more colourful than before.

The point is I'm sick of it, and I'm going to get myself some new damn glasses soon.

Yay!

Starboy... and the Captain of Outer Space!

In today's news... Dude randomly deported for being a hippy!

This kind of thing really gets my goat.
But, then, so does a lot of news these days, and I don't have the energy to whine about all of it, so I think I'll leave political commentry to the experts and go back to bitching about my own life.

Actually, today wasn't too bad. There was a bit of boredom, but I saw a new episode of Home Movies, and that always cheers me up!

(Hey, that's the first time I've ever been able to spell Boredom right BEFORE looking it up in a dictionary! Wooo!)

You made me stand up... You make me sit down.

I'm feeling reaaaaaaaaally bored. Never before have I felt so lame for having nothing to do on a Saturday night.

As especially lame as this is going to sound after that last sentence, I think I need a new computer game. It feels like ages since I was up until 4 am playing something like...
...

What I need is Civ 4. And a video card that could run it.

Or at least a good book. I finished Slapstick. It was good, though certainly not the best Vonnegut book I've read.

Ooh! My laundry's probably done! I better go put it in the drier before it gets shoved into a dusty corner by some other overenthusiastic garment washer!

Shazbot!

Min Payne! Best game ever!

Yes, I lost immediately after taking this screenshot.

No hidden meaning.

Dinner was tasty, but I burnt my tongue.

Now I can't taste properly.

True story!

The Nostalgia Trilogy Continues.

This is my favourite photo in the world. Possibly because it's my only non-digital one, so I can keep it on my desk and look at it all the time... But probably also because it contains a nice collection of some of my favourite fabulous people, none of them looking too stupid (Actually, I'm doing a bit of a retarded Nose-Smile, but it's not very noticable in that Jpg).

I like it a lot.
