Somewhere over Saskatchewan.

One assignment down! Woo!

And to make this post have something like content...

Well, I recently got my digital hands on this album by this person called Charlotte Gainsbourg, on the grounds that I'd kept hearing about her father (makes sense, really) and... I'm thinking... It's pretty darned good! Like, not mindblowing, but, by and large, it's really quite lovely.

But here's what surprised me: I soon found out that the music for it is mostly (or, like, all, or something) composed by Air. Which is fair enough, it doesn't sound too dissimilar... But here's the thing: I really don't much like Air. I mean, I like a few of their songs a bit, but a couple of these Charlotte Gainsbourg songs are really quite monstrously fabulous, and not just because of the notable advantage of Gainsbourg's vocals!

Also: I found out that Charlotte Gainsbourg was in the movie Love, Etc, which, by all indications, was extremely mediocre. But, it was based on the book Talking It Over by Julian Barnes, which is easily one of my favourite books of all time. Really, extraordinarily fabulous book. Shame they made a mediocre film out of it.
