People are the greatest fun.

I did some stuff last week!

I saw Vashti Bunyan at The Basement. She played such great songs as Lately. A very mellow and folky performance; good stuff.

I also saw Calexico at The Basement. They played such great songs as Frontera. A very loud and exciting performance; excellent stuff. The support act, some Melburnian band called Whitley, were really good too. Certainly the best support act I've seen in my short history of Band-Seeing!

I also got mugged by some thugs. They performed such hits as Punch Me In The Face. They sucked. I don't recommend them. Fear my negative review!!

I decided to check my own gender against a couple of my longer blog posts, and apparently I am female.

Well, I'm a little dubious.

Self pity gets a breath of fresh air.

I just saw Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times, and I am once again completely blown away by that man's incredible genius. Not to mention by his immense cuteness, and that of his co-star Paulette Goddard. True brilliance all around.

In other brilliance today: In the mail arrived a album that I ordered, along with 2 others, a few weeks ago. Dog Problems, by The Format. And it is absolutely wonderful. Pure Indie Pop Goodness. Every single track a unique little explosion of bittersweet joy. I highly recommend it. To me. I don't know about you. I'm not sure who you are. But you'd probably like it too, if you like quality popy music.
